How checks are performed
Every disposition in the ledger is a reading of evidence, with a date. This page states what we read, what we record, and what a null means.
What counts as evidence
We read the seller's own published pages and public registers. A marketing claim satisfies a criterion only when the criterion asks for a claim. Where a criterion asks for a fact, the fact must be shown: a named pharmacy, a reachable document, a printed price.
We record the source beside every disposition. A reader should be able to repeat the check from the record alone.
Dates
Seller pages change. Every disposition carries the month it was read, and a disposition is a statement about that month, not about today. Re-checks update the date.
What a null means
Not verified means the check has not been completed to the recorded date. It is not a finding. It never counts for a seller, and it never counts against one.
The enforcement check
Criterion S8 is checked against FDA's full warning-letter index, downloaded and searched locally. The search runs with a positive control: a known letter must be found in the same run, or no absence is recorded. Candidate hits are attributed by entity and address, never by name resemblance. Every negative S8 finding comes from a screen of FDA's full warning-letter index that also finds a known control letter, so an absence is a real absence.
The order path check
Criterion S2 is checked by following each seller's order path from a product page, with placeholder details, to the first screen that asks something of the buyer: intake questions, an account, or payment. No order is completed and no payment is made. The seller record names what stands at that point, and the source beside it is the page where it appears.
When a record says something appears nowhere on a seller's site, it means the home page, the product pages, the questions, the terms, the privacy policy, the contact page and the footer were read on the record's date, together with every page the site's own sitemap lists where one is published, and none of them carried it. A later page can change that, and a record is re-read when it does.
Corrections
Errors reported to standards@peptidealliance.org are checked against the source and corrected with a dated note. A disposition changes when the evidence changes.
