Finding · criterion S1
Does anyone check a prescription before the peptide ships?
50 of the 94 sellers in the ledger state that a licensed clinician reviews an order before anything ships. 39 do not. 5 records carry a null and are named below. The line falls exactly between the two kinds of seller, with nothing on either side crossing it.
- Pass
- Fail
- Not verified
S1, prescriber requirement, across every record in the ledger.
Criterion S1, prescriber requirement, asks whether a licensed United States clinician evaluates each order before a drug ships, and whether the seller says so on its own pages. It is the first criterion in the Standard because it is the one that decides what kind of transaction a reader is in. The census below was run against Standard v1.1, on the date stated above, over every record in the ledger.
The number, with both denominators
Of the 94 sellers recorded, 50 satisfy S1 and 39 fail it. 5 sellers are excluded from the numerator and named here rather than counted: Peptide Sciences, Polaris Peptides, Regen Peptides, Science.bio, Xcel Peptides. Against the adjusted denominator of 89 checked sellers, the count is still 50.
Split by kind, the figures stop looking like a spectrum. Among the 50 telehealth services, 50 pass and 0 fail. Among the 44 research vendors, 0 pass, 39 fail, and 5 carry a null. Every telehealth service in the ledger passes S1, and no checked research vendor passes it. This is the only criterion in the Standard on which the two kinds separate completely.
What a failure here does and does not mean
A research vendor that fails S1 is not being accused of anything. It sells material labeled for laboratory use and does not claim a clinician stands in the path, so recording that none does is a description rather than a charge. The criterion earns its place because of what happens next: the same compounds, at the same doses, are bought by people who intend to inject them, and the difference between the two halves of this field is whether anyone with a license looks first.
The reverse caution matters as much. S1 is satisfied by a stated review, not by a good one. It does not measure how long the evaluation takes, whether a synchronous visit occurs, or whether a clinician ever declines an order. A service that passes S1 has said a prescriber is in the path; it has not been shown to have a careful one. That question is a different criterion and, in places, a different profession's job.
What the failing records actually say
The failing bases below are unusually uniform, and the uniformity is the finding. Most read as some version of the same sentence: no clinician appears anywhere on the pages read, and the sale involves no prescriber. A reader looking for a gate does not find a weak one. There is nothing there to weigh.

Why the question is not decorative
Every other criterion in the Standard assumes an answer to this one. Whether a pharmacy is named, whether a compounding disclosure appears, whether a price is printed before intake — each is a question about a supply chain that begins with a prescription. Where no prescriber exists, those questions change meaning rather than simply going unanswered, and the ledger records them separately for that reason. S1 is the criterion that tells a reader which set of questions they are actually asking.

Counts are generated from the ledger at build time, so this page cannot drift from the records it summarizes. Method and null semantics: how checks are performed. This page ranks nothing, recommends nothing, and carries no partner link.
Related findings
How many peptide sellers name the pharmacy that fills the order?A minority. Most sellers substitute a legal category, such as a licensed 503A pharmacy, for a facility a reader could look up in a state board register.
How many storefronts, and how many companies?Fewer companies than storefronts. Several records in the ledger are filed under more than one consumer domain, and one company names every website it operates in a single sentence of its own terms.
How many peptide sellers print a price before the intake form?A large majority. A price printed on a public page is the norm in this ledger, and the records that withhold one are named on the piece, with the withholding sentence quoted.
Where is the seller? Business address disclosure across the ledgerMost records print an address, and the addresses are not alike. Some are an office, some a registered agent's building, some a private mailbox, and a substantial minority print no address on any of the four surfaces read.
Warning letters across the field, and what happened nextA warning letter alleges and does not halt. The lettered entities in this ledger are counted with their denominator, together with how many still trade and how many letters carry a close-out letter on the FDA index.
The state of the Standard, edition 1Eight criteria applied to every record, each reported as its own pass, fail and not-verified count, split between telehealth services and research vendors. No criterion is summed with another, and no record is scored.
Which pharmacies fill the orders, and how many sellers name the same one?Fewer facilities than storefronts. Several sellers that look like separate businesses name the same filling pharmacy, and one facility appears in the ledger under several different spellings, each written by a different seller.
Where does the order path stop? Most stop, and the split is exact. Every record that puts an eligibility step in front of the order is a telehealth service, and every record that lets a product reach checkout unasked is a research vendor.
The criterion the licensed services fail and the research vendors passAlmost the whole split runs one way. The sellers operating outside the prescription system publish more laboratory evidence than the licensed services do, with exceptions on both sides named on the page. The split is structural rather than a difference in care, and a certificate is a document about one lot, not an approval.
The question the regulator asked, and whether the record answers itSome answer it and some do not. The letters and the criterion ask the same question, and this piece reports only the dated state of both, because the ledger holds no earlier reading of those pages to compare against.
How many sellers say the compounded drug is not FDA-approved?Fewer than the headline rate suggests. S4 has the highest pass rate of any criterion because a large block of sellers passes it by selling no compounded drugs at all; among the sellers the disclosure actually applies to, a real minority omits it.
